MISSION ACCOMPLISHED

After more than 30 years of serving the community the First Christian Church of Stow Preschool is closing. We would like to express sincere thanks to the talented staff and the many families of the community who attended the preschool. It has been an honor to serve the community through the Preschool.

The First Christian Church of Stow Nursery School (as it was originally, the name was later changed to First Christian Church Preschool), was established with the following philosophy and goals and maintained these values throughout its service to the community.

The Philosophy and Goals:

"Our objective is to provide and educational program tat is AGE-APPROPRIATE in physical, mental, social, and emotional development, including experience time, indoor and outdoor play times, snack, sharing together, story time, music, art, math and science...

AND

To give each child time to create and explore without unnecessary pressure in an environment that is guided by Christian love, thought, and example."

Our school was a non-profit organization and run by a committee of volunteers from the church. We were licensed to operate by the Ohio Department of Jobs and Family Services.

At one time we offered the community different 8 sessions of preschool: an AM and PM session for 3 year olds; 2 AM and PM sessions for 4 year olds; and an AM and PM session for 5 year olds (which later was termed PreK). We had nearly 100 children and their families from the community learning and growing under the loving care given to them by our excellent staff.

It is with great sadness that we see the preschool come to an end, but are extremely grateful, knowing we have touched many lives in a positive way, and that knowledge gives us fulfillment.
