Youth Mission Trips at First Christian Church of Stow

Our High school youth group has been taking mission trips around the northeastern part of the country since the summer of 1999. We have been to Virginia, West Virginia, Tennessee, South Carolina, Columbus and this summer we went to Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania. These trips have been very meaningful and memorable to our youth. They have learned how to be the hands and feet of Christ and how to serve with a servant’s heart. They have met many other youth from many different denominations and many people from different walks of life. These experiences have been life changing for them all

This summers trip we partnered with a group called Youth Works. We went to rural Pennsylvania to an old coal mining town. Our youth served by painting houses, visiting at nursing homes, and leading a kids club for the neighborhood children. They showed compassion for senior citizens, homeowners and children in a town that had seen better days. This experience has changed our youth and the people they were there to serve.

Our next youth mission trip will be in the summer of 2012. We do not know where the Lord will lead us but we will listen with an open heart and mind.
